Did you know that in addition to loaning books, magazines, and DVD’s, the Plano Public Library System also hosts book clubs, game nights, and more?
Let’s take a look at what adults can enjoy during the month of August:
Scrappy Hour (August 15, Schimelpfenig Library)
Bring your photos and other mementos to work on new pages for your scrapbook. The theme for this day is “Vacation,” and the library will provide paper, glue, and a cutting machine.
Mystery Book Club: The Long and Far Away Gone (August 17, Davis Library)
According to Amazon, The Long and Far Away Gone is a compassionate crime story that explains the mysteries of memory and the impact of violence on survivors – and the lengths they’ll go to find the truth of events that scarred their lives. Written by Lou Berney, this book was nominated for the 2015 LA Times Book Prize.
Scrabble Social (August 22, Schimelpfenig Library)
Scrabble is a fun game, and this social event brings players together from all across the city. Believe it or not, one to two million sets are sold in North America each year, and there are over 120,000 words that can be used to score points.
Ink with Joy (August 29, Davis Library)
Adult coloring books are all the rage as many find the activity relaxing. This event allows participants to color a variety of designs using pencils, inks, and gels while making new friends at the same time.
