Nestled near our Plano apartments is an urban oasis known around the globe: the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. If you would like to explore this unique destination, join the VP of Gardens, Dave Forehand, on an exciting virtual tour. Here is a taste of what you can discover from the comfort of your home at Marquette at Preston Park:
Lay Family Garden
Spanning just over two acres, the Lay Family Garden features hundreds of colorful perennials and woody plants. Set against two water features, the garden’s name honors Herman Lay (founder of Lay’s potato chips) and overlooks White Rock Lake. During the tour, Dave shares about the garden’s history and highlights the different plant species.
Red Maple Rill
Stunning throughout the year, the Nancy Rutchik Red Maple Rill boasts more than 80 varieties of Japanese maples. Anchoring the center of the garden is a tree that has stood for nearly a century. Dave will take you on a scenic journey as he highlights the garden’s amazing colors and picturesque views.
Boswell Family Garden
The Boswell Family Garden is especially beautiful in mid-fall and late spring when the roses are in full bloom. An overlook provides picturesque lake views, while Magnolia Allee and carefully trimmed hollies surround the garden. Dave discusses the different rose varieties as he offers an up-close look at this incredible outdoor space.
