Virtual tours at the Dallas Museum of Art.

Recognized around the world, the Dallas Museum of Art features an incredible selection of works spanning 5,000 years of human creativity.

It’s currently offering a virtual tour of some of its most fascinating exhibits. Those you can enjoy from the comfort of our¬†apartments in Plano¬†include:

Flores Mexicanas: Women in Modern Mexican Art

Flores Mexicanas: Women in Modern Mexican Art explores the changing representations of women in textiles and paintings by some of Mexico’s most renowned artists. Part of the exhibit highlights the work of Alfredo Ramos Martinez. Known as a founder of Mexican Modernism, he completed Flores Mexicanas in 1929. Subsequently, Martinez gave the painting as a wedding gift to aviators Charles and Anne Lindbergh, who met in Mexico City.

Speechless: Different by Design

Speechless: Different by Design is a unique exhibition that showcases how to “shape space, touch sound, picture thought, and hear place.” It specifically blends scientific research and innovative design.

Artists like Matt Checkowowski contributed to the exhibit. A filmmaker, Matt is fascinated by the challenging power of words and the way technology is reshaping languages worldwide.

For a Dreamer of Houses

An imaginative exhibition, For a Dreamer of Houses offers a detailed look at human habitations and how they represent our values. It features more than 50 works from the museum’s collection and is undoubtedly inspired by the 1958 book, The Poetics of Space. After enjoying the virtual tour, watch the video to get the perspectives of conservators about the exhibit.

Stewpot Art Program

Along with the exhibitions, the virtual tour also highlights the Stewpot Art Program. It provides supplies and support to aspiring artists. Many of the artists are self-taught, and the tour offers an up-close look at their colorful paintings.

All in all, the Dallas Museum of Art offers plenty of value for all art enthusiasts. So, check out the virtual tours to support this local institution.
